![]() ![]() ![]() Overall the food was average or below and the long wait in line it did not mean that the food was worth waiting for. Using our best judgment and through experience in the past we stood in some of the very long lines ranging from barbecue to Maine lobster and even a sushi burrito. As we meandered through the multiple lines of food trucks and food stands we noticed that some trucks had absolutely no phone lines with very long lines and some had no people at them at all. We were greeted with a very long line at the entrance so this increased our hopes of a great experience. So my wife and I had high expectations for the foodie Fest as we missed it last year. Overall, it’s an enjoyable experience with so much to see, smell, and eat. Photo courtesy of the Great American Foodie Fest. I also got a chance to say hello to Oming, the owner of Oming’s Kitchen, a Filipino food truck (and one of my favorites at that). At Foodie Fest with friends! Photo by Amylene Viernes. I later bought tangy Tropical Hibiscus juice from Meraki Volcano Drinks (along with a refill) and sugary strawberry funnel cake from Great American Funnel Cakes (a first as well). Foodie Fest had everything from common American foods like scrumptious mac-and-cheese, to recent creations like mouth-watering Japanese burritos, to creamy sweets like rolled ice cream and bundt cakes. When I attended for the first time, I felt overwhelmed by the number of options. ![]() Photo courtesy of the Great American Foodie Fest Cousins Maine Lobster.
